Vicenza, Italy

In case you haven't seen or heard from Facebook, Instagram, etc. we were able to take a week-long trip to Italy to visit some of our best friends and sight-see. Of course, I took about a thousand pictures, which have taken me a couple weeks already to download, edit, and finally post on here. You can thank me now for not posting all 1,000 of them, and only about 200 =). The next few posts will be pictures from our trip, and I will categorize them by city (Vicenza, Venice, Verona, Florence, Rome). This one is about Vicenza!

We have some very dear friends that live in this city, so for the first half of our trip we stayed with them in their lovely home and took day trips to other cities. Seriously, Kelly, I still have daydreams about the amazingly comfortable bed that we slept in!

And we're off! We were pretty proud of ourselves for packing in these 2 backpacks. It was definitely a good decision.

Finally with friends...

A little Vicenza scenery.

So, one of the coolest things about the trip is that Vicenza was having their annual chocolate festival! We got a box of chocolates and some hot chocolate (more like hot pudding!). There was chocolate in so many flavors and shapes.

One evening, they took us to one of their favorite restaurants. It was indescribable! There was a little cellar, and above that was a room that Galileo supposedly studied in. The menu offered Kangaroo (which we are still bummed we didn't try!), but Ronnie got some lamb chops, and I got a pear ravioli with ham and cream sauce. Then we shared a creme brulee which was amazing.
